This Server Position will be dedicated to Afternoon Tea service in this specialized role within our prestigious establishment. Expectations: The ideal candidate would have knowledge of Afternoon Tea preparation and service., as well as a strong background in food and beverage services. A dedication to maintaining a high-quality product. High service standards is paramount. Drive a positive and fun work environment culture. Be a Brand Ambassador and enhance the Afternoon Tea experience. To communicate appropriately with all guests regarding menu items and the complete ordering process, all aspects of Afternoon Tea and the story behind this experience. To take full and complete orders Maintenance of guest tables, server stations and related food and beverage areas. Exceptional interpersonal skills to facilitate a warm and welcoming atmosphere. To assist with all aspects of the guests encounter from beginning to end of service. This position is a property-based (on-site) position. Bring your skills and talent and be part of an amazing team. General Duties and Responsibilities: Ability to serve food and beverages as required. Ability to perform all duties required as an Afternoon Tea Server Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Order taking, answer guest questions, communication of concept story. Serving food and beverage items in a professional and unobtrusive manner. Retrieving dirty plates, cutlery, glasses and items upon guest request or after a designated time period. Maintaining server station and related food and beverage areas. Set-up of station before, during and after shift including all mis en place Clearing/bussing as needed Setting/re-setting as needed Ability to steep tea, brew coffee, etc Proper table maintenance in an unobtrusive and professional manner Experience and knowledge of food, tea, wine, wine paring, liqueurs, etc A complete working knowledge of the menu, their ingredients (knowledge of food allergies, etc) preparation and which items are not available. Ability to perform afternoon tea service, ability to set-up for tea and all associated menu items Positive attitude and service oriented willing and able to go above and beyond. Exceptional interpersonal skills to facilitate a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all interactions with all guests Ability to provide personalized service, courteous, efficient, friendly, and detailed in all interactions with guests and colleagues. Detail oriented and hands on. Empathetic to guest needs. To ensure all details of service are performed properly and that every guest receives the highest quality of service at all times. Assist with greeting of guest promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, a smile and good posture. Ability to maintain a friendly manner with all guests throughout their experience. Handling of menus and explanations/communication of all menu items, daily specials, items not available, children’s menu (when appropriate), and alternatives. Accurate knowledge of guest Ability to recognize regular or familiar guests and to greet them by name or to use guest name at all times when guest name becomes known. Ability to anticipate guest needs / read the guest/table as needed Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions Excellent phone skills, customer service oriented and proactive. General cleanliness and sanitary responsibilities including: Responsible to keep work area clean, sanitized and tidy at all times To ensure the all areas are stocked and all opening, service and closing side duties are completed correctly. Managing time and work load to ensure the smooth running of all operational needs between the Front of House and the Back of House operations pertaining to all aspects of service. Ability to utilize the POS systems correctly - Micros All banking and cashiering procedures as required To enable a safe working environment for oneself and all employees including Front and Back of House areas . Participation in meetings, continuing education and training as required. Responsible for personal schedules/payroll keeping/records Responsible for uniform maintenance, appearance and procedures. Experience in various capacities of restaurant staff (i.e.: server, host, bartender, busser, runner, etc.) strongly preferred Passion for Luxury Food and Beverage and Excellence, New York City F&B Luxury Hospitality experience preferred. NYC Food Protection Certificate and TIPS training is a plus Excellent telephone and floor etiquette are required for this position. Excellent presentation. Problem Solving, Ability to be creative, innovative and strive for continuous improvements, The ability to lift 25/50/. pounds when required The ability to respond quickly to sounds and Hotel alarms The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations timely The ability to come to work in extreme weather Ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the hotel management and staff.
